It is, for the record, hard to focus on your

yuletide story with a heating pad wrapped around your calf with a scarf. For instance, writing makes me thirsty, but I have to unplug myself if I want a drink and walk around with a plug tucked into my pants (so I don't trip and/or step on the plug and feel the unholy pain that usually accompanies such an action).

My life, folks.

(Dave the Physiotherapist seems to think it's sciatica which, argh, fml).

Finally read Avengers vs. X-Men! I think I just have to accept I have zero standards and will love everything, ever, because it makes my life pretty shiny. I really enjoyed it. I have a serious crush on the Scarlet Witch (dear Rictor: I am sorry she caused you pain, but she is pretty neat in this). A surprising amount of Iron Fist, which was nice, and I actually really dug Professor X in this, when normally he puts me into a coma of boredom. I got a little teary, actually, when he said he loved all of his X-Men. Waaah. :(

Other teary moments:

When Rogue defects to the Avengers side

When Cannonball is called out for his good-guy thoughts (Sam, I love you so much)

When Spider-man stays behind so the others can escape

When Iceman makes the call and says they have to end it now before Cyclops destroys everything

When Cyclops steals the Phoenix power from the White Queen (who I normally cannot stand, but ouch)

When Professor X dies and still insists to the end that he can save Cyclops

It wasn't perfect, mind you, but tonnes of sweet character moments.

My only complaint about comics right now is all my titles on bi-weekly schedules -- I am not this organised! I cannot keep up with you!

Also, if anyone is interested in a holiday card, I still haven't done them (this weekend, I swear) so there is still time to receive one!
