I haven't posted anything substantial since May 2022. Whoops. I might get into why that is someday, but until then... I have at least been reading dreamwidth regularly, and I've been pretty fannish in recent years, though all of that energy has been directed at anyone who has had the misfortune to speak to me directly. So I'm going to try to redirect some of those feels here, because there are a lot of feels. A lot.

Family feels indeed. Sometimes, I read a story, and I am honestly sad that it isn't canon, and this is definitely one of those stories. A lovely Longshot-POV story about him and Shatterstar. It has so many great moments, and the ending just about did me in. ♥

yuletide tag set is live. I nominated various characters from X-Factor (Comics), Draft Day (2014) and Lisa Kleypas's Wallflower Quartet. The latter almost broke me -- there's 8 characters, and I had to pick favourites and could only nom 4 of them -- but someone else nominated the other four. I'm just so happy.

There is a date for my marvel_bang story, and it's October 17th. Nerrrrrvous.

Probably nominating and signing up for holly_poly too.

Tomorrow, the first issue of Shatterstar drops. I am so beyond stressed out. It could really go either way, and I don't know, and I think I have some residual trust issues from the Deadpool 2 fiasco. I mean, the art looks good, so that's something, but. I guess we'll see. (Iamnotready).

I wrote nothing for five weeks after finishing my Marvel Bang, but I managed to start a new story a few days ago, so I am glad that's back. Still haven't touched either bingo card, but someday.

First for something unrelated: despite the fact I have read DW/LJ every day for last four years, I have neglected to post anything. My bad. Time got away from me.

If you want to feel joy, do not watch Cargo right this second, but trust me, it is a crazy bananas good short film and worth a watch. I was emotionally compromised after watching it, and needed a happy ending for the sweetest baby ever to appear in a film. This story delivered everything I needed after having my soul stomped on, with so many lovely little details and so much world-building, and it's just so awesome (and totally a surprise, because I did not peek this year)! \o/

I spent 16 hours straight one weekend, re-reading X-Factor, to prepare.  Such a hardship, I know.  Then I spent ages trying to figure out Monet's convoluted family history (no time to re-read Generation X ... and pretty sure I barely understood it in the first place).   Then I ate a lot of cheesecake, because when you write about cheesecake, you must eat it, too.  Then I finally finished it, even though I had to cut scenes.

yuletide is awesome!

As a plus side to the reveal, I an finally comment on the other two X-Factor (Comics) stories, Fearless by thinlizzy2 and Blink by misachan, which are both awesome ricstar stories.  I'm the worst sneaky person there is (and I spell like such an obvious Canadian ack), so I just avoided my favourite fandom in the entire history of fandoms for an entire week!  Woe.  That was hard.
