Sep. 18th, 2011 09:03 pmIt is so easy to forget how fun writing fic can be. Time consuming as hell, yes, but I've had a great writerly weekend. I've decided to write the second half of my badly jossed rictor/shatterstar story ... it seems like a waste to let 30 pages languish, and it only needs another 30 to be done. And I was wrong when I said it was my ricstar manifesto, because it really isn't Rictor's story at all. So it's more like my love song for Shatterstar, except it's more like a war song.
I'm a bit of a method-writer. I spend a lot of time thinking about my stories, and then, um, well, acting out pivotal scenes isn't quite the right description. I don't speak them out loud, but I move around, imagining what they must see from their vantage point. So I've spent a significant amount of time this weekend lying in a prone position, imagining myself as Shatterstar. With music playing for dramatic effect. Does that sound weird? It probably is weird. Oh well. I can't be alone.
I ended up seeing the Debt. I couldn't resist Helen Mirren and Sam Worthington.
I am trying to update this thing more, be more fannish, and reach out to people on my friends list. I've been a terrible fannish person in recent years.
I've also watched Eclipse three time this weekend. When Jasper calls Alice ma'am, and they smile at each other, I explode with happiness. I can't help it!
