tangeriner: Generals Rughadjeen and Galadar, chibified, sit in a tea cup as Rughadjeen steers with a spoon. (ffxi: ruggie and galadar (in a teacup))
In the last few weeks, I've gotten a bunch of new things! Almost none of them fun! Adulthood!

I got new glasses two weeks ago, and I think my eyes have finally accepted their new normal. It was the biggest shift in my prescription since I first got glasses in mid-1996. The assistant asked me if I want to wear them home, and I was all, "uh, not unless I want to crawl, thanks."

I got new summer tires. Hurrah?

I got a fair amount of dental work done. I had a cavity filled before a cleaning, and man oh man, was that so nice to be frozen for what is usually a wholly unpleasant experience.

I got a new cable box which means I can now talk to my remote and tell it what I want to watch. Which is actually good practice for me, since one of my main stuttering triggers is talking to anything not-human (cameras, voicemail, etc.). I feel vaguely ridiculous, but my main reason for doing all of this was so I could watch Roswell, New Mexico, and it involves so much clicking with the remote to find that issuing verbal commands to a machine is just much easier.

This weekend is Edit All The Things weekend. I have a little over 50k to get through with only a chunk of that on a definitive deadline. It helps that I love both of these stories very much, but lord, that is an intimidating word count to work through.

I also have some books to read. And by some, I mean way too many. Keep me away from the library.

I have really been enjoying Roswell, New Mexico. I never watched the first series, so this is all new ground for me.

Dororo remains amazing. There was a bit of a dip in quality during the first few episodes of the second cour, but last episode was perfect.

Fruits Basket also remains amazing, and I love it so much, and I definitely should have gotten into it when it was first recommended to me, back in the mid-2000s. I should have all the manga read by the end of this weekend.

I also got caught up with Isekai Quartet. I was a little concerned I wouldn't get all the jokes since I've only watched KonoSuba and Re:Zero in its entirety, with a few episodes The Saga of Tanya the Evil and none of Overlord. But turns out that doesn't matter at all. It's pretty funny at times, and the episodes are only 10 minutes.
