tangerinerParade cancelled. Senators back to losing again. I have never been so productive in my life!
I actually managed to finish my WIP, so I was able to post my amnesty in trope bingo. I actually really enjoyed the WIP experience. I had several readers who commented quite often, and considering how tiny the fandom is, I consider that to be a huge amount. I legit can talk about Rictor and Shatterstar till the cows come home.
Speaking of coming home, I very nearly wrecked my car (at the very least) during my annual holiday pilgrimage to the parents. Due to snow squalls, I didn't realize how slippery the road was while merging from one 400 series highway to another 400 series highway (to non-Canadians, these are basically the fastest and biggest of our highways, speed limit 100kmh/60 mph). I slid into another lane, got honked at by the car I almost wiped out and over corrected into a spin.
My only thought, after realizing I could not control the car and was going to crash, was basically "::bracing for impact, strangely calm:: I hope I survive this." Spoiler alert: I am fine. The car is also fine. I did end up facing the wrong way on a major highway, but props to all the cars and semis behind me, who slowed down until I finally stopped in the centre lane, facing the wrong direction. I counted 15 cars spun out over a 1.5 hour span, so clearly I was not the only one unprepared for the slipperiness. And highway later closed due to accident.
Plans to see the new Star Wars movie with parents and youngest sibling tonight.
I also have plans to see Call My By Your Name sometimes in next week. Plus read all the Yuletide fic ever in the world. Plus relax. And do some mandatory work training, since I do have to work one day, and I have to do it eventually. So that is less fun, but hopefully the rest balances out.
