Dec. 10th, 2017 07:05 pmRictor/Shatterstar is basically what I call my persistent OTP, in that we're going on 20 years together and the feelings they inspire have never faded. But Dorian/Klaus from From Eroica with Love remains firmly in the number two position. We'll see what, if any, Yuletide spits out for both.
Speaking of Shatterstar, I just picked up Cable #151, and whooooo boy, the artist does a good job with him. All long hair and sleek muscles and random shirt-less-ness. Heart eyes to the extreme over here. Longshot is also in it.
Still posting my WIP (oh god why did I think I could do a WIP), and the one of the comments has me thinking about comics canon and how it's treated. It's so very ... fluid and weird. From one writer to the next, they might flat out ignore something that happened, and then it's just gone.
And because I prefer to write getting-together stories, I work in a very grey space. For instance, because I know what happens in X-Factor, any story I write set in X-Force or Mexico can no longer have a defined happy ending, because *something* happens between Mexico and X-Factor to separate them. I am not particularly interested in what that is, though, and I still consider it a happy ending if they are happy with each other at the moment my story ends.
But Marvel, seriously, throw me a bone here: I need a panel they are in together, possibly speaking, if that it not too much to ask. Maybe that new Jean Grey series in January.
Things that are awesome:
1. The Public Library. Not only did the trailer for The Public come out, but I've been using my local branch a tonne, too. I'm basically in there weekly picking up a stack of TPBs (cheaper than buying the back issues to get caught up on X-lore), CDs and movies. I can also stream music. Great for writing.
2. ...uh, that's it really.
Things that are not awesome:
1. My frigging hockey team. Ottawa Senators, you are such garbage and you are destroying my soul. Professional sports is bullshit man it's bullshit. How do you even lose 11 of your last 12 games?? That's actually really frigging hard to do!!! Harder than winning even!!!!!
