tangeriner | 2012: And so it begins (Reply)

I've now been sick for two weeks. Bronchitis is frigging annoying, guys, I'm so glad I lasted 31 years before having the pleasure of experiencing it. I'm viciously sleep-deprived at this point, so some of my actions have become a little questionable, but I think it's getting better! Maybe!

2011 was a decent year. Went to San Diego Comic Con for first time. Moved into a sweet ass apartment. Got a niece in May and she is possibly the cutest baby ever born. Some not-so-decent things. Car got crushed by ice in March and cost me a small fortune. Got put on high blood pressure medication (though with the added bonus of treating my anxiety). Had to deal with a lunatic landlord (thankfully now an ex). But all in all, no complains. Improvement over 2010.

Resolutions for 2012 include saving money, paying down car, losing weight, getting off HBP meds, and writing more. Will get to that last point in a bit.

In more exciting news, it's yuletide reveals day! I have a lot of people to thank because this year was very kind to me. I got all of my request filled, which blows my mind. This means I can start with a blank slate next year. Thrill! First off, thanks to blithers for my official yuletide fic, And Swim Your Sea. So perfect! And also, thank you to crunchy_salad for Kotetsu Gets a Boyfriend, voleuse for Sudden Tumbling Finches and mithen for A Borrowed Heart of Gold for my treats. I'm still all mind-boggled and thrilled.

Speaking of mithen, she is actually the person I wrote for in yuletide. I was lucky enough to be able to write an Incorruptible story. Together, mithen and I have managed to jump-start this amazing fandom. Here's to many more stories!

This is the story of how I hope Terri's life turns out, that I think she deserves. Mostly, in the comics, I spend half of the time facepalming at her terrible life decisions (much like I do with every teenager I've ever met), but there is the occasional glimpse of something more. Like Max, I really want a good life for her. She's a great, complex character, and she's been through a lot for being so young. I want a happy ending for her, dammit. Are you listening, Mark Waid???
