tangerinerI've been gaming pretty hardcore recently.
Still playing Final Fantasy XI, though I'm pretty sure my linkshell leader thinks I'm about to quit. I'm not, but JEEZ, do I hate endgame. I'm at my best when I'm screwing around, doing nothing of consequence, but doing it well, and endgame in MMORPGs requires all your time spent on one thing, which is usually boring. I've helped out a little, at the request of friends, but for the most part, am on an endgame-sabbatical.
Still playing World of Warcraft, though I can feel that addiction waning. My Paladin is level 53, which is nice, but, well, I dunno. I'm not in love with any of the NPCs, which makes it hard to achieve that level of obsessiveness MMORPGs demand. I mean, even when I'm playing WoW, I'm thinking about General Rughadjeen from FFXI, who is, like, super awesomecakes. And handsome. And is BFFs with Gadalar, the magic happy general.
Started playing Dragon Age Origins, which is AWESOME. Zomg, guys. I have to log off sometimes, just to force the levels of squee down to bearable. My first mission in the game is complete: I played long enough to get Zevran in my group.
Okay, so Zevran is this assassin, who is the only bisexual male character in the game. (Other dudes can be modded to swing both ways, but Zev comes by his manly loving ways honestly). So of course, I make it my mission to hook up with him, because, hey, I am playing a pouty male elf as well. It's a perfect match! So far, we have only flirted a little, and I gave him a gift of a gold bar. \o/

So, yes, envy my life everyone. Haha. But seriously. Things are good. Haven't been a total recluse -- I occasionally game with some of the people from work, and I see my library school friends occasionally. I did some tourist things when my Toronto friends and my sister visied, so I'm enjoying Ottawa more than I was. Nothing that I ever didn't like it, but new city, without many social connections, in the dead of winter.
Also, apropos of nothing, I wished I got a new issue of X-Factor every week. Rictor and Shatterstar, I still cannot believe you two hooked up.
