Snowflake Challenge: Day Five
Jan. 5th, 2013 07:40 amStretch yourself a little and try something new. Go play in a new fandom or with a new pairing. Try working in a new medium. Or consume different fanworks. Give that new fandom a go. Listen to a podfic or watch some vids if you haven't before. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it.
So I am determined to make a vid, but that's down the road somewhat. Instead, I listened to podfic for the first time! I stuck to Rictor/Shatterstar stories and listened to tinypinkmouse_podfic read Not Quite a Typical Day (But Pretty Damn Close) [Podfic] and Rain, Rain, Don't Go Away [Podfic] (both awesome stories written by
settiai). It was really nice to just lie in bed and listen.
I feel good that I finally gave podfic a chance. \o/ As a side effect of spending a decade and a half unable to speak without stuttering and being made fun of whenever I was forced to speak against my will, I tend to strongly associate reading out loud with public humiliation (even though I am more or less completely fluent now, except when I am overly tired or being recorded).
