I've been lurking around my fandoms, looking for new stuff (easy -- many talented folks) and new people (hard -- I am so shy even online), and I found this:

MASSIVE spoilers for the end of the Dark Angel Saga, but possibly the most perfect thing I've ever watched -- the issue destroyed me, but reading it with music?  I totally cried. I did.  And then I laid on my bed and felt only despair for the next ten minutes.

In other news,I've decided to do the plus sign for my trope_bingo card (you can see it here).  Tropes I will be terrible at: animal transformation, circus, steampunk.  Tropes I already had bunnies for anyway: fuck or die, all-human, locked in.  Free space will either be amnesia or accidental baby acquisition, I think.

I'm watching The Terminator.  It turns out I've never actually seen The Terminator.  I guess I just assumed I had.  Hmm.

circus brainstorming

So, I think I went to a circus once, in the mid-80s, but I could just be making that up. So I am brainstorming publicly! In case there is something very not-circusy about Cirque de X-Factor!

In other news, uploaded a few more older stories to AO3 today, both in the Young Heroes in Love fandom. I don't blame anyone who might never have heard of it. It's a DC Comics series from mid-nineties, that was cancelled after 18 issues. It had one of the first same-sex couples in comics that I knew of (though, iirc, they literally got together in the last issue). It's never been released as a trade (which is a crying shame).

I was very dramatic in my younger years. While I appreciate my enthusiasm, I need to edit a few of these stories before I'm willing to add them to AO3.

Snowflake Challenge: Day Three

This is actually the most challenging thing I could be asked to do, and I almost skipped it, but then I said, self, dammit, there are so many awesome people floating around, so I friended a couple people whose journals I've been snooping around in for a while (*waves*), and I commented on a goodly number of fic and even one vid. I'm going to continue this -- connect with more fannish people, and give more feedback. Everyone wins. This is New Years Resolution #3.
