Mar. 17th, 2018 05:06 pmDid I mention I got an Amazon Prime trial? ::makes a face:: The problem is really that I live in a big enough city that shipping is crazy fast, I sincerely love receiving mail, and I am extremely susceptible to suggestion. So, basically, I now own a legion of queer cinema DVDs/blu-rays that I will some day talk about in length. And Coco, which I bought mainly as research (seriously) but which turned out to be delightful.
Also managed to put on pants today (A+, self, wtg) and go see Love, Simon. Which, other than some extreme second-hand embarrassment which had me hiding in my tee-shirt, I really loved it a lot.
Put my nominations in for
fandom5k, which should be fun. I find it so much easier to write for other people than myself, so I am looking forward to it. That said, should probably start actually writing my
smutswap instead of just thinking really hard about it.
Also finally out of my post-Exit Music funk. Which I meant I could finally look at it, and fix the fifty zillion times I forgot to italicize something important. :S
I also have a stack of comics to read. That will probably happen some time this weekend. I did immediately read New Mutants: Dead Souls #1, because my boy Rictor is back in a book, and I liked it a lot. Some of the Rictor-dialogue seemed forced, and there was one joke that made zero sense involving the Young Avengers (they were there when he got his powers back! It was an important time in his life!), but I am looking forward to the next issue.
Oh, and I paid a ridiculous amount of money for a variant copy of Weapon X, because Rictor was on the cover. I am exactly the person who Marvel steals money from on a regular basis.
Last but not least, quick fic rec: Arcadia by
sineala (The Professionals, Bodie/Doyle). I have never read a Professionals story in my life, and I am only vaguely familiar with the concept behind the show, but this one sucked me right in. The plot is amazing, the characters are engrossing, and it's got a very ... classic feel, if that makes sense.
