Snowflake Challenge: Day Four

In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your wish-list if you feel comfortable doing so. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Check out other people's posts. Maybe you will grant a wish. If any wishes are granted, we'd love it if you link them to this post.

1. I would love a Rictor/Shatterstar first time story written for me, because guh.

2. A sorta, I dunno, standing-offering to look at/beta Rictor/Shatterstar fic. It's such a small pocket of fandom, and so different from how it was in popslash (where I had several enthusiastic sounding boards or people suggesting fic ideas). I do get nervous sometimes about my stories!

3. Icons! Of stuff I like! (See profile).

4. I want to know more about vidding! What are your favourite vids that totally define vidding for you? Are there any Vidding 101/Vidding for Beginners resources floating around? Which programs are the best to use?

5. Suggestions for new conventions to attend! Any fannish ones I should add to the schedule? I'm headed to Otakon in Baltimore in August 2013, and I've been to San Diego Comic Con, but what others would you suggest!

6. Art for any of my fic, because art is awesome!

I will read it...someday. XD What all has Monet been in? I can probably figure out the issues if I sit down with wikipedia/google for a while, but if you happen to already know that would be awesome!

Rooms are indeed super-competitive; the main hotels sell out literally within hours of the room block becoming available. There are cancellations that you can grab, of course, and a lot of people looking for roommates to save money (dunno if that's a concern for you, but it's pretty expensive.) There are a lot of both professional and fan panels! I usually stuck to the fan panels, since I hate waiting in lines for the big panels. There are panels for EVERYTHING. They have about 20 programming tracks running. The weather is...hot. Usually about mid-80s F, and the south is HUMID. Warm costumes should be fine standing around inside in the air-conditioning, but I would not recommend fur-lined costumes if you're going to be moving between hotels to get to panels.

The website just has basic info, but you can get a lot more useful stuff from the [livejournal.com profile] dragoncon comm, and the wiki they link.
