I know everyone is all "Anime Boston" but! in New England, there's a 3 day event called "Connecticon" and it. is. amazing. So many fandoms and people and love--it isn't just anime or slash or gaming. If it has a fandom, someone is there doing it! I've been to panels on Japanese tea ceremonies, tea in general, history of comics, fan works, alchemy, steam punk, swords, etc.
