I've been lurking around my fandoms, looking for new stuff (easy -- many talented folks) and new people (hard -- I am so shy even online), and I found this:

Uncanny X-Force #18: Dark Angel's End (4 words) by sophoslight
Fandom: X-Men (Comicverse), X-Force (Comics), Uncanny X-Force (Comics)
Rating: Mature
Warning: Graphic Depictions Of Violence, Major Character Death
Characters: Warren Worthington III, Elizabeth Braddock, Fantomex, Apocalypse - Character, Psylocke, Archangel, Angel

MASSIVE spoilers for the end of the Dark Angel Saga, but possibly the most perfect thing I've ever watched -- the issue destroyed me, but reading it with music?  I totally cried. I did.  And then I laid on my bed and felt only despair for the next ten minutes.

In other news,I've decided to do the plus sign for my [community profile] trope_bingo card (you can see it here).  Tropes I will be terrible at: animal transformation, circus, steampunk.  Tropes I already had bunnies for anyway: fuck or die, all-human, locked in.  Free space will either be amnesia or accidental baby acquisition, I think.

I'm watching The Terminator.  It turns out I've never actually seen The Terminator.  I guess I just assumed I had.  Hmm.

It is so easy to forget how fun writing fic can be.  Time consuming as hell, yes, but I've had a great writerly weekend.  I've decided to write the second half of my badly jossed rictor/shatterstar story ... it seems like a waste to let 30 pages languish, and it only needs another 30 to be done.  And I was wrong when I said it was my ricstar manifesto, because it really isn't Rictor's story at all.  So it's more like my love song for Shatterstar, except it's more like a war song.

I'm a bit of a method-writer.  I spend a lot of time thinking about my stories, and then, um, well, acting out pivotal scenes isn't quite the right description.  I don't speak them out loud, but I move around, imagining what they must see from their vantage point.  So I've spent a significant amount of time this weekend lying in a prone position, imagining myself as Shatterstar.  With music playing for dramatic effect.  Does that sound weird?  It probably is weird.  Oh well.  I can't be alone.

I ended up seeing the Debt.  I couldn't resist Helen Mirren and Sam Worthington.

I am trying to update this thing more, be more fannish, and reach out to people on my friends list.  I've been a terrible fannish person in recent years.

I've also watched Eclipse three time this weekend.  When Jasper calls Alice ma'am, and they smile at each other, I explode with happiness.  I can't help it!
