In your own space, talk about a creator. Show us why you think they are amazing. It can be a detailed, thoughtful analysis, or a squeeful, joyful post. Or maybe a combination of the two. Make a recs list, link to their archives or master lists or websites, maybe create a Fanlore page for them. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

So back in the day, when I was first getting online (somewhere around 1995 or 1996), I stumbled upon fanfic. Shortly after that, I discovered slash. Which I took to be the gospel truth, assuming I had just foolishly never noticed how incredibly queer Gambit and Iceman were, and how they were actually in love. It took me longer than I want to admit to clue into the fact slash doesn't necessarily mean two dudes or ladies are getting it on canonically (I was 16 and woefully naive). Back in the day, the X-Men slashers were a tiny group, and freakishly convincing.

So today I want to talk about [livejournal.com profile] devosama/[archiveofourown.org profile] Devolucao/[tumblr.com profile] ando-meio-desligado . Devo was my gateway into the perfection of the Quicksilver/Northstar pairing with some of the most amazing stories I've ever read. A writer and an artist, I've discovered an enormous amount of anime through Devo, particularly Naruto, Bleach and One Piece. Devo's skill as an artist is unparallelled -- is it weird to compliment someone's deft hand at drawing penises? If it is, oh well, I'm weird cuz I'm doing it. Everything Devo draws is amazing. Everything Devo writes is amazing. I'm not even going to link to anything in specific, because y'all should be looking at and reading everything.  Trust me.  That good.

The X-Men fandom sounds like it really was something back in the days :)

lol I do remember newsgroup. I don't remember them being that difficult to check (at least not with outlook, once properly configured).
